Virat Kohli's absence in the final three Tests against England could be a fatal blow for the Indian team.

First test of the series saw a serious fightback from the England team as they won by 28 runs, propelled by a great pace bowling performance by Jasprit Bumrah, and a long-awaited ton by Shubman Gill. India clinched the victory by 106 runs, leveling the 5-test series at 1-1.
However, with the continued absence of Virat Kohli, it poses a serious challenge for the Indian team for the final three tests. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have been named in India's squad for the final 3 Tests against England, having recovered from quadriceps and hamstring injuries, respectively. Their participation, though, is subject to clearance from the medical team, as clarified by the BCCI.
Former captain Virat Kohli will take no part in the series due to a family emergency. Another major absentee will be Shreyas Iyer in the middle order, who complained of back stiffness during the second Test and has now been ruled out for the remainder of the series. Consequently, both Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan have managed to retain their spots.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj, who was rested from the second Test in Visakhapatnam, has been picked in the squad. While Mukesh Kumar has retained his spot, Avesh Khan has been released, and in his place, the selection committee has picked Akash Deep. Following Jadeja's return, Saurabh Kumar has also been released.
